PHOTO LONDON - 2020 | Roberta Bayley & Danny Fields

The Music Photo Gallery is pleased to announce its participation in the upcoming edition of Photo London Digital 2020 - one of the world’s most important international photography events.

The online exclusive show will take place from October 7th through October 18th.

Photo London is a world-class fair and a catalyst for London’s dynamic photography community. Coming together from London’s major museums, auction houses, and galleries large and small, Photo London harnesses the city’s outstanding creative talent and brings together the world’s leading photographers, curators, exhibitors, dealers and the public to celebrate photography, the medium of our time.

The Music Photo Gallery will be featuring “The Punk Years” - vintage photographs by Roberta Bayley and Danny Fields. This exhibition project presents a selection of Roberta and Danny’s rarely seen images which chronicle the New York and London punk scene in the 1970s and 80s.

Roberta Bayley is a key figure who participated in the artistic scene since the early 70's, capturing the enthusiastic aesthetic and musical avant-garde movement that detonated NYC for those years, witnessing some of the most memorable moments alongside the icons and iconoclasts of punk and the Rock And Roll history. TMPG presents a special selection of her unseen vintage cibachromes and polaroids, as well as the memorable image, which was the cover of the first Ramones album, printed by Roberta in 1976.

Danny Fields is an American music manager, publicist, journalist and author. As a music industry executive in the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s, he was one of the most influential figures in the history of punk rock. He signed and managed Iggy and the Stooges, signed the MC5 and managed the Ramones, and worked in various roles with Jim Morrison, the Velvet Underground and the Modern Lovers. In 2014 The New York Times said, "You could make a convincing case that without Danny Fields, punk rock would not have happened." At the show, TMPG presents for the first time a selection of his original vintage contact sheets and introduces “My Ramones” Portfolio, a very special selection of photographs from his years as manager, friend and photographer of the band.

The show includes incredible images of the Sex Pistols and The Ramones who brought an aggressive attitude and new rebellious image to the rock scene, as well as images of Patti Smith, Blondie, Television, Iggy Pop, Joe Strummer and Richard Hell among others.
