Ebet Roberts moved from Memphis to New York City to pursue painting but found her true calling behind the camera. In 1977, she began photographing the vibrant CBGB scene and soon became one of the most respected music photographers of her generation.
Over the years, she’s captured some of the most iconic names in rock, jazz, and classical music—Bob Marley, Bob Dylan, Miles Davis, The Ramones, Talking Heads, Bruce Springsteen, and many more. Her images have appeared in Rolling Stone, The New York Times, MOJO, Spin, and Playboy, and are featured in books like Punk 365, CBGB: 30 Years of Photographs, and Who Shot Rock & Roll.
Her work has been exhibited worldwide and is held in the permanent collections of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Grammy Museum, the Experience Music Project, and the Hard Rock Café.
